My name is Verónica Brown. I am a lifelong learner, avid backyard birder, and native plant enthusiast. In 2025, I earned a Pollinator Steward Certificate from UMass Amherst Extension and reached a personal milestone by turning my property into a Certified Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation. This means my yard provides essential habitat elements: food, water, cover, and places to raise young. I am currently taking a Northeast Spring Field Ornithology course through Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Bird Academy and working toward a Native Plant Studies Certificate through the Native Plant Trust. As an artist, I find immense joy in creating a thriving ecosystem at home and celebrating the intricate beauty of the natural world through both my educational efforts and my creative work. I hope visitors to this blog find the inspiration needed to transform their own backyard into thriving habitats.
