I’m one of those rare people who actually loves snow. I really do! But honestly, I’ve had enough.
I don’t think I’ve ever been more ready for spring. I’ve got a ton of cleanup to do from last week’s blizzard, and I’m crossing my fingers that the seeds in my winter sowing containers start sprouting soon. I’m also eagerly awaiting any signs of life from the spring ephemerals I planted last fall – they should be popping up soon… you know, if they’re not still buried under two feet of snow!

I’m lucky that I can still handle some of my yard work in quick bursts between work and parenting, especially since my property is pretty tiny. But I know not everyone has the time or energy to do it all themselves.
If you need a hand, I’ve put together a list of landscapers on or near the Cape who can help. Whether you want to get rid of some of your lawn, plant a pollinator garden, or just need some fresh ideas to make your yard more wildlife-friendly, these folks are a great place to start.

Just a quick heads-up: I haven’t personally worked with these businesses, so I’m not officially endorsing them. I’m just passing along the info I’ve gathered to help you get started! Definitely do your own “homework” and chat with them to make sure they’re the right fit for your specific project.
I reached out to the following businesses to get the scoop on their services:
Environmental Landscape Solutions
Covers all Cape towns. They handle invasive plant removal, eco-friendly lawn replacements, garden design and installation. It’s best to email them in March to get on their calendar.

Gardens by Barbara Conolly, Inc.
Focuses on the Upper Cape (Mashpee, Falmouth, Sandwich, and Bourne). They offer both invasive removal and lawn replacement, plus garden design and installation. They’re flexible, but February through April is the best time to call.

I wasn’t able to get the full details on the businesses below, so I’m not 100% sure if they’re currently taking on new residential clients, but they are definitely worth a look:
- Bob Hoxie, Great Hill Horticultural Services
- Alex Kent, Kent Land Design
- Julie Esteves, Julia Garden Design
- Marie Chieppo, Education & Designs for Sustainable Gardens
- Shannon Goheen, Second Nature Gardenworks
- Sophia Pilling, Sweetfern Gardening, Inc.
- Cape Organics, Organic Land Restoration
I hope this list helps you find the perfect fit for your home project!
PS: If you’re an eco-landscaper working with native plants, invasive removal, or wildlife-friendly designs and you’re taking on new clients on the Cape, let me know! I’d be happy to add you to the list.
